Town of Ferdinand

Ferdinand HTC

About HTC

The Town of Ferdinand was a pilot community for Indiana’s HomeTown Competitiveness (HTC) program as one of only nine communities in the state (three towns, six counties) to be approved for the program.

At a joint meeting of HTC and Vision committee members, the groups merged the Indiana HomeTownCompetitiveness and Vision Group efforts into one united effort for both Ferdinand and the southeastern Dubois County community. The new effort titled Ferdinand HomeTown Competitiveness (FHTC), was approved by the group and will feature one steering committee and the alignment of teams into fewer overall pillars.

FHTC now features six overall pillars:  Youth (includes Brain Gain), Entrepreneurship (includes Business and Community Development), Ferdinand Community Foundation (the original charitable giving pillar), Leadership, Population Growth, and Tourism.

The group voted to nominate Marc Steczyk, Ferdinand town manager, as the overall Community Coordinator for the FHTC initiative. Marc will report and seek guidance from a steering committee that will feature the six pillar leaders, Town government leadership, Chamber leadership, School Corporation leadership, and a state HomeTown Competitiveness site coach.

Entrepreneur Development Guidelines Playbook

The Entrepreneurship development guidelines have been designed by the Ferdinand Community Entrepreneurship Pillar Team and the Ferdinand Chamber of Commerce in order to assist budding entrepreneurs as they work to take an entrepreneurial idea or dream and nurture it to an entrepreneurial reality within our community or surrounding area.
