Treasurer of State Richard E. Mourdock to Speak at Chamber Breakfast

Indiana Treasurer Richard Mourdock will be the speaker at a breakfast hosted by the Chambers of Commerce of Dubois County on Thursday, June 4, 2009.  The event will be held at the Huntingburg Event & Community Center, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Richard Mourdock was elected as the 53rd State Treasurer in November 2006. He brings to the office a 30 year record as a business executive in the Hoosier energy, construction, and environmental industries.  He served two terms as a County Commissioner in Vanderburgh County , where he gained a reputation as a results-oriented leader by setting goals and measuring progress.

As Indiana ’s Chief Investment Officer, Mourdock seeks to maximize the return on the State’s investment portfolio. In addition, he serves as Chairman of the Indiana Bond Bank, the Wireless Enhanced 911 Advisory Board, and the Indiana Education Savings Authority. Finally, Mourdock serves as the Secretary and Investment Manager of the Indiana Board for Depositories and the Trustee of the Indiana State Police Pension Plan.

Mourdock holds a Master’s Degree in Geology from Ball State University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Defiance College in Ohio.  He has been actively involved in Christian mission services to Bolivia . He is an avid marathon runner with his most recent races being the 2008 Chicago and Boston Marathons.  Mourdock lives in Darmstadt , Indiana , with his wife Marilyn.

Admission is free.  Breakfast will be catered by Sanders Catering.  There will be a $7.00 charge for breakfast for all Ferdinand, Huntingburg and Jasper Chamber of Commerce members and $9.00 for the general public.  Those interested in attending should make reservations no later than May 26 by calling the Huntingburg Chamber of Commerce at 812-683-5699 or email at chambersec@huntingburg.org.


TSMA Event with Bob Koch, President  & CEO of Koch Enterprises

Cost: Free!

The event is hosted by the Tri-State Manufacturers’ Alliance (TSMA), a new organization comprised primarily of manufacturers in S.W. IN.  TSMA’s focus is creating a vibrant manufacturing environment in S.W. IN that results in improved revenue, profitability and employment.  The TSMA Executive Committee is made up of manufacturing leaders from Wabash Plastics, Alcoa, QTR, Anchor Industries, Evansville ARC, Toyota , and other regional and local employers.
