Sisters of St. Benedict July 14, 2007 — 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Entertainment, food, and games for all ages on the beautiful monastery grounds! Features include entertainment throughout the day, a variety of food (snacks and meals), games, special attractions for kids, booths offering homemade quilts, sisters’ crafts, and baked goods. The sisters will also provide guided tours of the restored monastery church, a major landmark in Southern Indiana. The Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand warmly welcome visitors to their home for their once-every-five-years Summer Social. The 2007 Summer Social marks the 140th anniversary of the founding of the monastery. Past Summer Socials have attracted thousands of visitors from throughout Indiana and many other states, including California, Rhode Island, North Dakota, Texas and those in between.
