18th Street Park — Softball field lease

Maintenance on Softball diamond

Responsibilities consist of the following:

  • Outfield is to be mowed and maintained by the Park Department.
  • The Infield is to be prepared and maintained by the Park Department. At no time will materials, equipment, or modification to the diamonds or fields be made without the consent of the Custodian or the Park Board. 
  • Lights are to be turned off by a representative of the League after the last game of play each evening.
  • All trash is to be placed in the designated trash containers by League Representatives.
  • Line striping, markers, equipment and etc. are all item related to game preparation and are responsibilities of each organization leasing the field at that time of play.

Canceled Game

  • It is the League Representative’s responsibility to notify the necessary involved parties for all canceled games. In the event of unfair weather, the Park reserves the right to be notified within adequate time by the League Representative if the scheduled event is to be canceled. The Park Custodian will make the FINAL decision if any event is to be canceled. If a game is to be canceled, a sign is to be posted in a visible location notifying of the cancellation.

Rescheduling of Game

  • All games that are to be rescheduled must be verified with the Park Custodian.

Scheduling of Practices and Regular Season Games

  • A schedule of all practices and regular season games must be submitted before any lease is final.

Additional Practices and/or Games

  • All practices and/or games requesting to be added to the preseason schedule must be cleared with the Park Custodian.

Alteration to the Park

  • Absolutely at NO time is there to be any alteration, addition, or removal of any permanent/temporary item(s) without the consent of the Parks and Recreation Board. ie. signs, banners, structures, etc.

Concessions

  • During any event that the concession stand is open for business, only the said bottling products are to be sold. The said bottling products are determined by the Park and Recreation Board. No canned or additional drink products are to be available for sale during these events. Each concession stand will be supplied with electric drink coolers that will be used by each organization. The bottling vendor will supply each concession stand as per each organizations request. It will be the responsibility of each organization to stock the coolers and notify the vendor of any change to inventory or upcoming events that may require additional inventory.  Report any damage to leased vending machines to vendor immediately.

Lease Agreement

  • Proper field rotation is necessary to prevail from extensive damage to the playing surface. At all time a league representative must be aware of the “wear and tear” on each field. If extensive damage occurs due to the negligence of the leasor, the field(s) will be corrected at the expense of the leasor. This work will be coordinated by the Park and Recreation Department and bill to and paid by the leasor.
  • This lease ONLY pertains to the regular scheduled games and practices.

Lease Fee Schedule

  • Standard Lease — $1,320/season  
  • Whole 5th or 18th Street Park — $200/day (shelter house, volleyball court, ball fields, horse shoe pits)
  • (1) Ball Field                                                                                    $40/day
  • (1) Ball Field with Lights                                                                   $55/day
  • (1) Volley Ball Court                                                                         $10/day
  • (1) Horseshoe Pit                                                                             $10/day
  • (1) Volley Ball Court with Lights                                                         $15/day
  • (1) Shelter House                                                                             $25/day

Note: If any of the above conditions are violated, the Park and Recreation Department reserves the right to allocate additional charges and fees as seems appropriate for each case. The Park and Recreation Department holds monthly public meetings open for any suggestions and ideas to better your Park. Lease Requirements

  • Proof of liability insurance
  • Copy of the League’s regular scheduled games
  • Completion of Parks Lease Agreement, Signatures and check for said amount.
All the above information must be complete before ANY lease is final. Make all checks payable to the Town of Ferdinand, Park and Recreation Department.
